1. Who we are

Techlign is a software engineering studio operating out of Pakistan and serving clients globally. This policy covers www.techlign.com and any subdomain that points to this site. For data-protection questions, contact hello@techlign.com.

2. What we collect

We collect two categories of data, both kept to the minimum needed.

Anonymous traffic data (always)

• The URL you visited (e.g. /services)
• The referring URL, if your browser sent one
• A salted SHA-256 hash of your IP address — we never store the raw IP
• A coarse user-agent category: bot / mobile / desktop
• The date of the visit

This data is stored on our own infrastructure and is used only for aggregate analytics in our internal dashboard.

Contact-form submissions (when you fill out the form)

• Name, email, and message (required)
• Company, phone, budget, timeline (optional)
• Your IP address and user-agent (for spam prevention)

3. How we use it

• Traffic data— to understand which pages are popular, where visitors come from, and to detect performance issues. We don't profile individuals.
• Contact submissions— to respond to your enquiry. We don't add you to a marketing list and we don't share your details with third parties.

4. Cookies & similar storage

We use the minimum storage required for the site to work and for optional analytics, if you opt in.

• techlign.cookie-consent(local storage) — remembers your choice from the cookie banner. Strictly necessary; cannot be disabled because it's how we honour your choice.
• Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*) — only set if you click Accept on the banner. Lifetime up to 2 years. See Google's privacy policy.
• Admin session cookie — only set for Techlign staff signing into the admin area. Not relevant for site visitors.

We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) and legacy Do Not Trackbrowser signals. If either is enabled, the cookie banner won't appear and Google Analytics will not load.

5. Third parties

• Google Analytics 4— optional, off by default, activated by your consent. Data is processed by Google. We do not enable Google's advertising features.
• Hosting & email infrastructure — our hosting provider and email-sending provider process data on our behalf under standard data-processing agreements.

We don't sell, rent, or share your data with anyone for their own marketing purposes.

6. How long we keep it

• Traffic logs — retained for as long as they remain useful for trend analysis.
• Contact submissions — retained while the conversation is active and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you follow up. You can request deletion at any time.
• Google Analytics— Google's defaults apply (typically 14 months for event data).

7. Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, export, or delete any personal data we hold about you. We'll respond within a reasonable timeframe — usually under 30 days. To make a request, email hello@techlign.com from the address you originally contacted us with, so we can verify the request.

You can change your cookie preference at any time by clearing your browser storage for this site. We'll show the banner again on your next visit.

8. Children

This site is aimed at businesses, not children. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has submitted personal data to us, please let us know and we'll delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We'll update this page when our practices change. The last updateddate at the top reflects the most recent change. For material changes, we'll surface them on the site so you have a chance to review before continuing.
